Introduced NBI.
Narrow Band Imaging (NBI; narrow band light observation) is an optical image enhancement technology that extracts hemoglobin in blood by limiting the wavelength to 415nm and 540nm from conventional light sources to highlight capillaries and microstructures on the mucosal surface layer. Using this technology, an electronic endoscope with a diameter of 3.2 mm can be used to detect early-stage cancer, such as new blood vessels, congestion, and rupture during cancer formation. No pain or discomfort. Until now, most otorhinolaryngology head and neck surgeons have found it difficult to perform surgery when a patient is diagnosed as having difficulty swallowing, or in so-called stage 4. This NBI system can be used to observe changes in blood vessels, which are often seen in early-stage cancer, to diagnose whether the patient has cancer or not.
